What is a Donation?

  While thinking about putting this together, an avalanche of thoughts, ideas and fears flood one's mind. Lots of them are negative ands counter productive but a ton of them are... well not so much thoughts but day-dreams of how much good we can do if we get the help we need from our friends, family and beyond.

  A very wise man used to say to me: "No good deed goes unpunished!". I used to hate hearing that because it told me of a world I didn't want to live in (I was 23 years old at that time). A world where people don't help each other in fear of negative unintended consequences. As I mature, I see the truth in that more and more and, it saddens me. Well, this time I am going to be stubborn and put that wise saying aside. However, this blog is a way to catalog and show to our contributors how their hard earned money is being spent. 

  Now, going back to the "Dreams". Asking people for help, especially money is such a difficult position to be in. One, because you put your friends and family in a difficult position to have to say NO for whatever their reason may be and/or what amount to donate?

  My wish for this fund-raising effort would be for 25,000 people to donate $1.00 but... Because this is not a social experiment, I cannot even really make such a request. People we are trying to help need help now and, we need to meet their needs ASAP. 

  So my answer to the tittle question of "What is a Donation?", what comes to mind is that a donation is an intention of doing good. An intention full of good energy! That much energy poured into what we are doing may be even more potent than the fund, but one without the other doesn't work, so we need both.

  So please, don't think about the amount you decide you can share with us, think about your intention. This is about seeing your name there and know that you care!! Also, please share with someone you know may be interested in being a part of this.
